Guildenstern: Our names shouted in a certain dawn...a message...a summons...There must have been a moment where we could have said no. But somehow we missed it. Rosen-? Guil-? Well, we'll know better next time. Now you see me, now you-

I am exhausted. I just woke up from nearly eleven hours of sleep and still feel like settling back down. Stage managing this show is really draining me. But it's still fun! Hank, Maria, Caitlin and I (And during the school show, Mitchell) have a blast up in the booth, and then when you add in Kennedy, Meg and Paul on headset, it becomes awesome. It's really stressful, however, when certain techies decide to move sets on and offstage when you never called for that happen. It makes it especially frustrating when Meg and Kennedy keep telling you it's the same techie making these mistakes over and over and it's also equally as frustrating when said techie does not get offstage before scrims and drops go up and so when they're caught onstage, they simply just walk off instead of finishing their job. So I say, THANK GOD FOR LEIGH SCOGGIN. I know she doesn't know me, but of all the techies, she is the only one who I've seen constantly work, and, whenever a mistake is made, she doesn't just walk away when the curtain goes up. She was kneeling behind that boardwalk last night, and she's really just been a big help. I'm about ready to bitch out this one certain techie. Even Koraly hasn't caused me this many headaches in the show.
But the show is awesome. If you do not come see it you're missing a great show. I am in no way trying to put down the musicals Northwest has done in the past, because they have all been amazing and definitely beyond a "high school play" but Ragtime is just different from the rest. There seems to be a purpose to this musical. By purpose, I don't mean "We did this musical to make you all aware of racism in America" I mean there seems to be a reason they picked this musical. Again, all the musicals have been amazing, but there seemed to be no other reason for performing them other than "We have to perform a spring musical!" There seems to be a reason they picked Ragtime, other than they needed a spring musical. Perhaps they wanted the complexity or the message or something. But it's awesome. Seriously, if you don't come see this show, after how many months everyone has put into it, I'll be a little offended.
Mrs. Franzese did one of the nicest things for me. I mean, I don't think I deserved that at all, but it was really nice to call me "The most underappreciated person here" especially because it's not really true...I don't think. The cast has been so nice to me, calling me "Brain" and Kennedy giving me flowers, and then Mrs. Franzese giving me the model of the Model T and Mrs. O'Neill giving me that card.
I'm gonna miss this cast when it's all over. I've been going through this thing since November and I sat through all the auditions and all the rehearsals and now it's approaching it's end and it just seems wrong. The cast has been amazing. It was nice to go into this with a few friends and now I've become friends with most everyone. They're such an awesome cast.
Of course, regardless of the awesome factor of the cast, seeing people who aren't involved in the musical yesterday made me so happy. I think I attacked Robin, Heidi, Liz and Page when I saw them yesterday. And Rachel and Greg came last night! I've been at the Booth since Monday from about seven-thirty in the morning to eight o'clock at night almost every single day and it was really nice to see some people I haven't seen in a while.
*Sigh*...you better go see Ragtime. Everyone has invested too much time in this musical to not have you come see it. So come see it!
The funeral scene is...it gives me chills. They absolutely NAIL the scene.
