Guildenstern: Our names shouted in a certain dawn...a message...a summons...There must have been a moment where we could have said no. But somehow we missed it. Rosen-? Guil-? Well, we'll know better next time. Now you see me, now you-

Who cares what cowards think anyway
:: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 ::
I was thinking last night...well, about a lot of things, but one thing in particular. It may seem superfluous (How I love Mr. Tucker for cementing that word in my mind. "Superfluous! Oh, I just like saying that! Superfluous!") but...
So, I made my brother listen to Like Spinning Plates yesterday because I was driving him to his drum lesson and I had a Radiohead CD in and, behold, Like Spinning Plates comes on. Now, this is my favorite song right now, and the only proper way to listen to this song is to blast it. Jesse and Allison will gladly attest to this as I made them listen to it like that. Of course, my brother hates it, but that's because he has no taste in music (The Super Smash Brothers soundtrack, anyone?) and is pretty much talking throughout the entire song. Although, I must say, I need to start getting pictures of people's faces when Thom Yorke starts singing because they have all been priceless. So, I drop him off, and drive to Jesse's house. On my way home, I put in Tigermilk, by Belle and Sebastian, and, you know, as passionately as I like Like Spinning Plates, The State I Am In may be a very close second in terms of my favorite songs. I mean, the song is so good. There's this swelling of instruments so that by the end of the song it's almost celebratory. It starts out with just a voice, then adds in a keyboard and by the end, the entire band is playing. Plus, the lyrics are hysterical. I like to call this song my "Things may suck, but, you know what, I don't care!" song, because that seems to be the overall theme of the song.
Anyways, enough mindless drivel.
Hanging out with Jesse last night was great, and I'm so unbelievably happy for you, Jesse. It's about fucking time! And thanks for your help later that night on...something. I need to write that now, I guess.
I can listen to Coldplay again. Sorry, that's just a big step for me because...it just is.
Alright, going away now.
