Guildenstern: Our names shouted in a certain dawn...a message...a summons...There must have been a moment where we could have said no. But somehow we missed it. Rosen-? Guil-? Well, we'll know better next time. Now you see me, now you-

So...report cars came out today. I'm a bit confused over mine because certain people who shall remain nameless are getting higher GPA's than me when they have the exact same grades as me and aren't in AP classes. And my US History grade has to be wrong. Measuring my work against Elizabeth's, it should have at least been a C. But it's a D. And that confuses me.
However, it's very telling when I'm excited over the report card on a whole. I DID NOT FAIL PRE-CALCULUS. I got a D, which isn't that good, but still...it's not an F. I was STUNNED when I saw the D on the report card. Stunned. I was talking to Kate Mara and just kind of froze. And I got a C in Physics (All thanks to that simple quarterly which was the easiest test of any kind I had this quarter).
So, US History and whatever was going on with my GPA nonwithstanding, I'm actually fairly pleased with my report card.
My mom, on the other hand, is a different story. I feared for my life that she would chop off my head as soon as she saw that report card. However, she didn't. She just said she was dissapointed and that she really couldn't say anything because it was all up to me (Exactly, which is why her lectures about grades have never worked. Had she paid attention, she would have noticed that my grades have ALWAYS been similar each year. Always a few B's, maybe a C, the rest are A's. Her lectures never work) and I agreed and just tried to explain why the grades are the way they were.
So, in any case, I think summer just wreaked havoc with my mind, especially in math, because the past couple of weeks I've really understood everything and the homework I did last night on the sections that I missed and had to teach myself was really easy to understand.
So...yeah. Don't know what's going to happen to my rank, but I suspect it's going down. But that's okay, because so far, for the first two weeks of second quarter, my grades have been phenomonal. I actually got back three assignments in Physics and all were above 60. That's never happened before.
Okay...so...any other highlights of the day...Lydia and I making fun of Mr. Lowe in Homeroom...oh, next friday is going to suck because everybody is going to be away to contest, including Diana and Andrew who are doing tech. It's going to be really boring. I may take the entire day off (Save Physics) and work on whatever Yearbook assignment we have because without those two in Pre-Cal, I'd die.
Oh, Jesse finished Microserfs, so it's back up for grabs. Anybody want to read it? Andrew, I read Brave New World. Reciprocate. Heidi, I know i"ve reccomended it to you. Take my advice.
So...oh, and Rhinoceros auditions are two weeks from tomorrow. The play doesn't go up until March. The jury is still out on whether I'll audition or not. Delaney has said there are only eleven parts, all fairly big, so if I did make it, I wouldn't be at rehearsal for three hours doing nothing (Like Twelfth Night)...but I really don't know if I can take another play this year. Macbeth nearly killed me.
Teacher Quote of the Day
I have to tell somebody that for the sake of posterity!
-Mr. Dillard on Theo's comment of "The second hand...is that the minute hand or hour hand?"
They said they wouldn't hold your scores against me
