I Hear You Knocking Down My Door...

    I Think I'm Cured...

    :: Wednesday, July 16, 2003 ::

So Emmy nominations are tomorrow. As long as Six feet under can get entrants in each category (Though Best Supporting Actor is a long shot) I will be happy, and I will be VERY HAPPY if Lauren Ambrose wins best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series as she gave the best performance this season. She can literally put each episode in a bag, draw one out and submit it and still win, each episode was that good. In any case, she should submit the episode AFTER she finds out Olivier and Russell, um, did some stuff. Her timing and sarcasm were phenomenal.

    So, here's what I predict:

Drama Series: Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, 24, The West Wing
That Darned Fifth Slot: Law and Order (It will not die), The Shield, The Wire

Comedy Series: Sex and The City, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Will and Grace
That Darned Fifth Slot: Curb Your Enthusiasm

Actor/Drama: James Gandolfini, Martin Sheen, Peter Krause, Keifer Sutherland, Michael Chiklis

Actress/Drama: Edie Falco, Frances Conroy, Allison Janney (EVEN THOUGH SHE IS A SUPPORTING ACTRESS!!! I'VE WATCHED THE WEST WING, JANNEY! GO BACK TO THE SUPPORTING ACTRESS CATEGORY WHERE YOU BELONG SO FRANCES CONROY CAN GET HER EMMY!), Lorraine Braaco, Jennifer Garner

Supp. Actor/Drama: John Spencer, Michael Imperioli, Dominic Chianese, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford
But I'd Really Like to See: Mathew St. Patrick get a nomination as he was the only SFU cast member to not get nominated last time...even though he gave better performances than Freddy Rodriguez, but what do I know?

Supp. Actress/Drama: Lauren Ambrose, Rachel Griffiths, Aida Tuturro
The Darned Fourth and Fifth Slots: Lena Olin, Jena Malone...and others

Actor/Comedy: Ray Romano, Bernie Mac, Matt LeBlanc
The Darned Fourth and Fifth Slots: Kelsey Grammar, Matthew Perry, Eric McCormack

Actress/Comedy: Debra Messing, Patricia Heaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jane Kazmarek, Jennifer Aniston

Supp. Actor/Comedy: Sean Hayes, Brad Garrett, Peter Boyle, David Hyde Pierce...and no clue on the rest

Supp. Actress/Comedy: Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon, Doris Roberts, Megan Mulally
The Darned Fifth Slot: Kristin Davis

So...Although Edie Falco has gotten so much attention for her supposedly excellent performance in The Sopranos finale, i still expect Six Feet Under to win Best Drama and Best Supporting Actress...that might be it, but it deserves these two above all else. There was no possible way Six Feet Under should have lost best Drama last year, but, in a year when all the drama series typically nominated had some misfires, it might be the year for SFU...I thought it was it's weakest season yet, but, apparently others thought differently. A lot of people thought it was it's best season yet.

So...predicting nominees is easy...predicting winners is hard.
